I am Capt. JH Miller, Jr and my job is to help you catch fish while having a good time doing it.  I operate a full time charter fishing/guide service on the Outer Banks, NC. My charters offer a hands on, light takle fishing experience without a first mate doing all the work. Whether you are a first timer or avid fisherman, I promise to do my best in making the trip enjoyable and rememberable for the whole family. I try to give you 110% of your money's worth, so you will come back year after year.

    The fishing varies depending on the time of the year, weather, and length of trip. Half day trips consist of fishing for flounder, speckled trout, puppy drum, bluefish, Spanish mackerel, stripers, croakers, spot, sea mullet, sheepshead, or black drum in the sounds and ocean around Oregon Inlet. For 3/4 and full day trips we go after cobia, king mackerel, amberjack, sharks, trigger fish, sea bass, spadefish, big red drum, tuna, and dolphin (mahi mahi). We will either be casting lures, using live bait, chumming, or deep water trolling. On any length trip, I like to split up the kind of fishing in order to give you the full experience.     The Reel Rebel is a 25' Carolina custom boat built by James Gillikin in Harker's Island, NC. She is a traditional Carolina boat with lots of flare which provides a comfortable, fast, dry, and stable ride. The boat is fully insured and carries a blanket fishing license so you don't have to worry about buying your own. I provide top grade tackle, supply all needed bait, and ice for your catch. All you need to bring is sun block, shades, and whatever you want to eat or drink during the day (if you have a favorite fishing rod feel free to bring it). To not compromise the experience, I limit the number of people to five. For larger crowds, I work together with my dock partner Capt. Ches Tyson on the  "Carolina Blue" http://www.rocksolidfishing.com/carolina_blue.html on running split trips. 

    The Reel Rebel is docked at Thicket Lump Marina in Wanchese on Roanoke Island just a short drive from anywhere on the OBX (Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, Duck, and Corolla) and is the 2nd closest marina to the inlet. Departure times are usually flexible, dependant upon other trips booked that day.  The marina offers clean bathrooms, food, drinks, ice, along with a full time fish cleaner. There is also a great place to eat upstairs,"Great Gut Deli", with daily lunch specials. Getting there is easy, just take a left at the light in Manteo and ride to the end of the road.
